Our supply chain will be crucial to the successful delivery of Peddimore and we are keen to support the local economy by working with local businesses and SMEs.

Among our commitments to ‘buying local’ is to ensure 50 per cent of what we spend is with local suppliers. We have now appointed Winvic Construction as our lead contractor, who are delivering the strategic infrastructure works on site and will be responsible for the build of Unit B.

Contracts coming up? Infrastructure Contracts & Opportunities

Infrastructure Works - Winvic are delivering all the infrastructure works needed for 37-hectares of the 71-hectare site which will include initial earthworks to prepare the development’s main building plots, a new access roundabout on the A38, S278 works to create a new combined pedestrian and cycleway bridge across the A38, as well as creating internal spine roads, footpaths and cycleways, gate houses, estate lighting, surface and foul water drainage, earthworks including bunding / screening to site boundaries and landscaping.

Unit B – Winvic will be delivering the construction of a new build warehouse with three internal floors together with drivers’ hubs and principal office accommodation. Work is due to begin in Summer 2022 and includes provision of perimeter concrete yards and associated parking, access and landscaping. The build works will consist of concrete foundations, gravity drainage, concrete slabs, steel frames and cladding.

Social Value - As part of the contract, Winvic will also be delivering a significant programme of social value to benefit the local community, creating opportunities for employment, training, business engagement and donating time and money to the community and its charities. We would like all our sub-contractors to help build on this with the support from our Social Value Manager. We are committed to supporting our sub-contractors to explore social value opportunities that can benefit both their business and the local community to create a larger positive impact.

Winvic and their sub-contractors will also be holding two Meet the Buyer Events in 2022, to highlight the types of materials and works they will be looking to source locally at the build stage.
